Flash Poetry: Jack the Ripper

On this August day in 1888,
a woman of the night met a grisly fate;
her killer became his own best-known tipper,
and he signed every letter, Jack the Ripper.

Today in 1888, the mystery of Jack the Ripper began in earnest. Since 9th grade English where I was assigned Jack the Ripper as the subject for a term paper, I’ve been fascinated with this (unsolved, even now) mystery. He gave Scotland Yard one hell of a run!
