Flash Poetry: Always/Never

If there are two words
That lie more than any other,
It’s “always” and “never.”
Nothing is always.
Few things are never.
I will always love you.
I will never hurt you.
I will always help you.
I will never leave you.
Our kindest sentiments
Make liars of us all,
Our good intentions
spilling blood.

If you enjoy my poetry, my very first chapbook, Wayward: Poetry for Monsters, Muses, and Other Deviants is just $2.99 in ebook format, and $5.99 in paperback.
