On Writing and Being Creative (Help Me, I’m Drowning)

Ah, the whiplash of being an artist. One moment, you’re in the throes of the Muse, channeling gods through your very fingertips.

The next, you wanna sob in the shower. I shall illustrate my point below (featuring Jake Peralta. If you’ve never watched Brooklyn 99, YOU SHOULD.) ⬇️

I finished the first draft of my new book series a few days ago (YAY! REJOICE! THAT WAS FASTER THAN EXPECTED!)

Then I went full edit mode. (THIS IS FINE.)

FULL STEAM AHEAD WITH BOOK TWO! (Hit God Mode.)

Daydreaming up Song Playlists for my main character, right?

Then, whilst shampooing my hair tonight, I decided I wanted to change half of the entire first book.

Cue the “I don’t wanna do this anymore” stage. The “Why do I do this to myself” stage.

I am currently in the Dizzy Frustrated Bamboozled Stage of Writing. Et tu, Brutè?
